Bio
Born in Washington D.C. in November 1968, and raised for the
majority of my life in the Northern Virginia suberb of Burke.
I graduated from Lake Braddock Secondary School in 1987.
I can't remember a time when I did not paint. I began selling
paintings in 7th Grade. By the time I was a sophomore it was
evident that I was headed to art school. I was recruited by
the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and received
my BFA from them in 1992.
I married Krista Trowbridge in 1994. She also modeled for
two paintings that are still among my favorites that debuted
in my thesis show at the Corcoran.
After a honeymoon in Italy I opened Erickson & Ripper
Gallery in Old Town Alexandria with my good friend Jeff Erickson

I have two wonderful daughters. They are 4 and 7 years old.
Both have taught me a great deal about the true meaning of
life. I find myself a better painter both because of the patience
kids will demand of you, and the need to paint better and
more consistently to provide for them.
I have had numerous shows over the years and am blessed to
have a long list of avid collectors. I am in the collections
of many corporations and government institutions.
I wish I had more artwork available to exhibit outside from
my own galleries in Virginia. This will be my next focus.
